Chelsea are having some doubts over one current striker target due to his large signing on fee.
As well as this, there are some disagreements over whether he is the best option for Chelsea to be going for next month or not.
As we know, Chelsea want a new striker, but they are at the minute unsure if they will be able to land one in January or whether they will need to wait until the summer instead. It all depends on the opportunities available next month.
They are a potential suitor for Ivan Toney of Brentford, but according to journalist Simon Phillips today on his Substack site, his signing on fee is going to be quite high and Chelsea are unsure about paying it. As well as that, not every decision maker at the club is fully on board with pushing for Toney yet.
So this has led them to step up their intensive scouting for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to Phillips, and he could now become a real option.
