Craig Burley likes to go against the grain, and while most people are praising Chelsea today, he decided to call them pretty fortunate to get a win against Brighton yesterday.
To be fair he makes some good points. He said he was “completely unconvinced” by the performance, and noted that the crowd at Stamford Bridge were quiet even at 2-0 up because “there was no football being played” by their team.
He also notes that Brighton were heavily depleted by injury, and that despite all that we had really made heavy weather of it.
It’s a harsh take on the game, but largely true.
