Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to name a lot of academy kids on the bench this season without giving many of them a chance to play, so it was nice to see Alfie Gilchrist come on yesterday.
The youngster was only on the pitch for a few moments, but made sure to get noticed. One moment saw hm go full blooded into a challenge, then leap to his feet and throw his head at a clearance. The fans loved it, it was very John Terry.
Whatever happens to Alfie from here, this is one of those moments that will make him a cult hero, fast.
