Mauricio Pochettino explained to reporters in yesterday’s press conference that his sore throat was due to excessive “encouraging” of his players in training this week.
Things have only deteriorated since then, and the poor bloke was really struggling to speak in his press conference after the game today.
“We are talking about football on my worst day [to talk about football]” the manager said with a wry smile, gesturing at his painful windpipe. Thankfully for him, it was a good excuse to keep things short.
