1 goal in 262 minute striker can turn his stats and season around with goal tonight

Sky Sports’ preview of tonight’s game notes that Armando Broja is likely going to start and will have to step up and take Nicolas Jackson’s place.

They note that he has just two goals this season – one every 262 minutes on the pitch. That’s poor, but he’s been coming on for short periods as a sub mostly. Starting from Saturday (where he scored) his run in the team starting games begins, and if he grabs a goal tonight we will start to see that 262 drop rapidly.

Some fans have given up, some never believed, but Broja will be getting his chances, and he can yet prove them all wrong.

You can see the Sky discussion on Broja in the clip embedded here:

Much like Preston, Middlesbrough will sit deep and defend. That limits Broja’s ability to use his rangy speed in behind, but allows him to get closer to goal where he can use his aerial ability – just as we saw on Saturday where he got up well to nod home a nice header.
