There’s a cool tradition at Cobham that we didn’t know about until it featured in Chelsea’s behind the scenes video from this week.
Every player from the academy who makes their debut gets a space on the wall, and not just that but a match ball from the game in a display case. It’s a love souvenir for them, and a way for the club to give encouragement to the next generation who want to be up on that wall.
Armando Broja made his debut way back in 2020, but for whatever reason has only just got his ball. He took some pictures with academy genius Jim Fraser who was behind his development, as with so many of the other names on that wall.

Here’s hoping we get a few more of these presentations before the end of this season – there are certainly plenty of good candidates reaching the right age.
