Djordje Petrovic has seized his chance after becoming Chelsea’s goalkeeper this season.
He’s racking up quite the run of games now, and impressing everyone. This highlight compilation from his 8 games since taking over from the injured Robert Sanchez show a keeper calm and composed beyond his years and beyond his limited time in the Premier League.
Starting off with clips of Sanchez messing up is an unnecessary jab, but this clip does show why some fans already think the Spaniard will struggle to get his job back when he is fit again.

What’s amazing to me is how Sanchez wasn’t benched long, long ago. If he were an American (like Matt Turner), he’d have been raked over the coals for the incredible naïveté of his repeated gaffes and he’d likely have already been sold. The guy is not the world-class keeper that we need and deserve.
As for Petrovic, he’s performed admirably given how quickly he was thrown into the deep end, but I think it’s more than a little early to crown him as the heir apparent to great keepers in our recent past—namely Cech and Courtois. At this point, the best thing to be said about Petrovic is that he’s totally adequate and we got him for cheap.
NICE ONE BRO KEEP ON
