Chelsea sent scouts to watch Bournemouth full back

Chelsea have reportedly been scouting Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez but face competition from rivals Manchester United.

The Hungarian international has impressed so far in his debut campaign in the Premier League and has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers.

The 20 year old joined from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for £15.5m last summer and has made 19 appearances in the Premier League quickly establishing himself as a regular under Andoni Iraola.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs told The United Stand that both Chelsea and United have sent scouts to watch Kerkez.

Of course it remains to be seen whether Chelsea follow up with an official bid but it is clear that the club will more than likely be in the market for a left back this summer.

Doubts surround the long term fitness of vice captain Ben Chilwell whilst Ian Maatsen is expected to leave the club in the summer and is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

There are also a lot of questions surrounding the future of Marc Cucurella with Chelsea believed to be open to letting the former Brighton man leave if the right offer comes in.

If Bournemouth were to sell they would be looking to make a significant profit on what they paid for Kerkez last summer with the Hungarian having penned a long term contract and no doubt increased his value with his impressive performances.

He returned to Bournemouth’s starting eleven in the defeat to Manchester City following a foot injury.
