Chelsea stars make little progress towards injury recovery – Colwill likely out two weeks

Chelsea have just released their injury report for this week, with a few notable changes.

Trevoh Chalobah and Robert Sanchez have both been bumped up a level – Chalobah is in team training “for reconditioning phase”, while Sanchez is in “partial team training.”

It seems like another week and they’ll be available for selection.

Meanwhile Levi Colwill, who seemed like he only had a minor issue when he withdrew from our FA Cup lineup two weeks ago, is only “beginning” his reconditioning phase. That will rule him out of our game tomorrow, and probably means another week or two on the sidelines.

The rest of the injured players are all just “continuing to undergo [their] rehabilitation phase.”

So anyone hoping to see Lesley Ugochukwu or Romeo Lavia take a step towards selection will be a little disappointed. The good news is that Carney Chukwuemeka is working his way back to fitness, and Cesare Casadei has been recalled, so there is a little more depth in midfield than in previous months.
