Exclusive reveals PSG and Liverpool want €55m rated Chelsea defender – but not for two years

PSG have an interest in Levi Colwill, Ben Jacobs is reporting in his exclusive column for Caughtoffside today.

The Chelsea defender is an outstanding prospect now finally getting the first team minutes he deserves. And we don’t have to worry too much – Jacobs stresses this is a long term plan from the Parisians, and from Liverpool who are also in the race for the defender who is already valued at €55m (TM).

“PSG, like Liverpool, also appreciate Levi Colwill. Chelsea will auto-dismiss any offers, and Colwill has zero interest in leaving Stamford Bridge right now,” Jacobs wrote in his column.

“No suitor is going to try in summer 2024 unless something crazy and dramatic changes, but PSG are prepared to play the long-game. It might be one to watch in 2025 if Chelsea’s project doesn’t go to plan, but right now Colwill is untouchable. All suitors know this and that it is a waste of time to advance anything right now.”

For now, he’s safe, and as things stand should be a real leader in the dressing room and a potential captain if he keeps developing as he has been.

But as comfortable as things are now, there’s no denying they could get hairy in a year or two if we haven’t made it back to Europe. If Colwill is heading towards the end of his deal and PSG are offering big money, Champions League football and almost guaranteed trophies, we can see it happening.
