Sources: Chelsea chief contacts Mauricio Pochettino amidst a tough period

One Chelsea chief has made contact with Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino whilst the club has been going through a tough period in time.

Before beating Aston Villa last Wednesday, the pressure has hugely been on the shoulders of Pochettino, with talk of a sacking once again becoming the agenda amongst the media and the fan base.

EXCLUSIVE! Price tag revealed for Chelsea’s summer striker transfer target plus big updates on Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres!

They lost 4-2 against Wolves on the Sunday before, and on the Monday and the Tuesday the noise was loud and the doom and gloom clouded over the club yet again, as it often has done within the last 18 months.

But it was during this period that Chelsea owner Behdad Eghbali decided to contact Pochettino and advise him to ignore the noise and focus on getting the results to silence it all and put things right.

In fact, according to our writer Ben Jacobs in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column for our sister site SPTC today, the Chelsea boss is continuing to get plenty of support internally and as long as he keeps Eghbali on side, he is going nowhere!

Jacobs said: “We know football is a results-driven business so things can always change quickly at any club, but as of now the Chelsea boss is getting plenty of support internally. Behdad Eghbali has personally encouraged him to ignore the noise and focus instead on silencing any critics with silverware at the end of the month. And as long as Eghbali is on side, Pochettino is going nowhere.”

  1. Something to keep in mind is that “with talk of a sacking once again becoming the agenda amongst the media and the fan base” has little or nothing to do with the reality from the club’s perspective. The vast majority of football “news” is this kind of media and fan base driven fake news and therefore not really news at all.
