Striker joins Premier League rivals with £5m still under question

Armando Broja has sealed a deadline day move to Fulham.

It was the one we were all waiting for as rumours about other ins and outs dried up. There had been a desire on Chelsea’s end to secure a permanent deal for their forward, but there was clearly nothing offered close to what they want, and they’ve given in to a loan to try and keep his value high.

The Blues were said to be wanting a loan fee as of this morning – we will soon find out if Fulham managed to bargain that down.

Clearly the early return of Nicolas Jackson from AFCON convinced Chelsea they can spare Broja, who was an unused sub last night and looks like he needs a long run of games to find his confidence again.

It also means a bump up the pecking order for Deivid Washington. He will still be behind Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and potentially Cole Palmer used as a 9, but an injury puts him right in the mix.
