“They are all tired” – Pochettino provides update ahead of Leeds clash

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that his Chelsea players are “all tired” ahead of the FA Cup tie against Leeds tomorrow night.

The Blues played 120 minutes in the Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool on Sunday and don’t have much time to recover with just two days between the games.

The defeat at Wembley has hugely increased the pressure on the 51 year old with some reports saying Chelsea are already looking at replacements.

Speaking in his pre match conference the Argentine said: “They are all tired. Always when you lose a final, it’s not easy to recover. But I am so happy because they are really focused, they move forward.”

“If you ask the players today if they want to be involved tomorrow in the game. Disappointed because we cannot win the Carabao Cup but we need to move on and compete tomorrow. I’m happy because they react well and they are in a very positive moment.”

The Blues are currently struggling down in eleventh place in the Premier League and winning the FA Cup perhaps represents their best chance of getting back into European football next season.

Pochettino is approaching a make or break run which could decide his long term future at Chelsea as the Blues face Brentford , Newcastle and Arsenal after the FA Cup tie against Leeds.
