(Video): Chelsea had a “cartel” and now their recruitment is “disgraceful” with players who should be “nowhere near” the first team

Sky Sports had Tim Sherwood on today, and he levelled some pretty strong criticism at Chelsea’s recruitment, which he called “disgraceful” for the way it had spent a billion on average players who should be “nowhere near” the first team.

He isn’t saying much new here, it’s just interesting to hear it put so starkly. He says our squad used to have a “cartel” of experienced players, and now has turned into a bunch of kids.

Some people wouldn’t agree with his take that it’s not right to blame the manager here, but he’s spot on with his assessment of the players that have been bought and some of the mistakes which have been made.
