But Blues fans have still been invested in the competition, some of them following their own home nations. Ivory Coast Chelsea fans will be over the moon this morning, and commiserations to Nigerian Chelsea fans.
Ivory Coast turned around a 1-0 deficit to beat Nigeria 2-1 to win the African Cup of Nations last night, and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was in attendance to first bring the trophy out before the start of the game, and then get fully involved in team celebrations with the players at the end of the game, as seen in this video below.
