(Video): Conor Gallagher’s brilliant turn and shot puts Chelsea ahead after 90 minutes

Well, just when we were ready for extra time, Conor Gallagher has saved us all.

He missed a couple of chances at the weekend, but made up for it then with the winner. Enzo Fernandez broke with the ball and spotted Gallagher breaking free through the middle.

It was a superb turn to shield the ball away from Junior Firpo, and he then had to finish past a flying defender and a keeper – but he managed it.

A great effort, and a great way to end the game.

You can see the goal in the clip embedded here:

  1. Loads of credit to Gallagher. I honestly doubted he had this class and composure in his game, especially after he blew similar chances against Liverpool, but I think the difference here vs Sunday was fresh legs. You feel like at Wembley he just didn’t have the bounce left in his legs to produce that type of control and finish in the critical moment.
