We’ve seen Conor Gallagher threaten in the opposition box so many times this season, and he’s picked up assists and won penalties without getting the goal he deserves. He’s had so many blocked and saved it felt like he was cursed.
So last night when the ball flew in off his foot it was especially glorious. After the game, he couldn’t help the smile beaming across his face as he explained how it happened.
“Finally, it’s been too long” he sighed after the game, looking more relieved than anything.
Now he’s got one, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him notch a few more before the season is out.
