(Video): “I wish for Chelsea fans…” – Gallagher slaughtered by ESPN pundit

We love the Gab and Juls show on ESPN, and we’re always interested in their take on Chelsea games, as outsiders who aren’t too zoomed in so closely on the club.

Juls had one thought from the game “I just wish for Chelsea fans… that the best chance didn’t fall to Gallagher.”

He was very critical of the midfielder’s technique, which let him down on a couple of occasions.

“He’s an athlete more than a footballer,” the pundit went on.

Gab counter-pointed that a great chance did fall to the much more technical Cole Palmer, who also didn’t score.

In the end, the ball just didn’t want to go in.

  1. Juls isn’t wrong, and any Chelsea supporter who doesn’t see it (Gallagher’s lack of technical polish) isn’t being honest with themselves.

His work rate is admirable and has often proven indispensable, but, from a purely objective standpoint, he’s a “squad player” at best for any team that aspires to win Premier League titles. I mean, can anyone imagine him starting at City? Or Liverpool? Or Arsenal? No! He’s just not good enough and his lack of class in those critical moments on Sunday should come as no surprise—because we’ve seen him fall short in similar moments many times before.

As an American, what sort of tickles me is that Gallagher is in many ways the stereotype “American” player. He throws himself around the pitch with a work rate that’s second to none, but, as the trope goes, he lacks the technique of a European (or South American) footballer who’s capable of winning the match with a touch of class in the most decisive moments. No, he’s homegrown, so most supporters look right past all of this because he’s “one of our own.”

    1. God please you! U got eyes, but the pathetic pundits in England won’t see that, instead they point fingers at casiedo

  2. Gallagher isn’t good enough for a Team like Chelsea whose demands are very high..He lacks mental strength and technical abilities to carry the central load in a Club like Chelsea
