Mauricio Pochettino took a wild line in his press conference today when he complained that Liverpool weren’t getting any criticism for losing to Arsenal, when his Chelsea team were excoriated for their capitulation against the Reds a week ago.
As many people have pointed out, it’s a ridiculous comparison. Much like when he compared his debut season to Jurgen Klopp’s, he’s not making a fair balance. Liverpool are having a brilliant season, they can get away with a loss to one of the best teams in the league.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have conceded more goals than they’ve scored. Is that really a comparison you want to make, Mauricio?

Why the constant Poch bashing? Why the delight in calling him a hypocrite? The guy is trying to hold together the delicate psyche of a young squad under siege by the press and their own fan base. What do you expect? Do you want him selling out his guys in the press?
Chelsea News are rapidly proving complicit in creating a downward spiral at the club with this incessant negativity. And to what end? One could be forgiven for thinking that the site might be more interested in generating clicks than seeing the team win! You can fairly report on the club without behaving like a vulture.
