“We need their help as always” – Pochettino’s message to fans ahead of Leeds game

Mauricio Pochettino has called on the Chelsea fans to help build a great atmosphere for tonight’s FA Cup tie against Leeds.

The Blues will be looking to bounce back immediately following the disappointment  of losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool at Wembley last Sunday.

Tonight’s game represents the latest instalment in the historic rivalry between the two sides and is the first time the two teams have faced off in the FA Cup since the famous final in 1970.

The pressure is building on the Argentine and he has called on the clubs supporters for help.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website the 51 year old said: “I understand the disappointment of our fans but we will need their help as always. I think it’s important to create a very good atmosphere because Leeds is going to be pushing with all their fans. I know very well it’s going to be a tough game.”

Pochettino also added that he doesn’t believe the defeat last Sunday will put more pressure on the players to succeed in the FA Cup.

He said: “Always the pressure is to win, the pressure is to go through in the competition. That is the most important thing. It is going to be tough tomorrow because of the circumstances but we need to be strong, positive and have a good energy.”

The FA Cup possibly represents the best chance of playing European football next season for the Stamford Bridge outfit and a win tonight would see them through to the quarter finals.
