Pundits are queuing up to back Chelsea to beat Burnley at home tomorrow. Despite the bad vibes that pulsated around the stadium in the dodgy FA Cup win over Leicester last time out, we are playing a poor team and have some of our stars in good form.
On the BBC, Chris Sutton says it’s going to be 2-0, and their guest picker “Bionic” says 3-0, with Cole Palmer getting “a couple of goals.”
Sky Sports also predict a win for the Blues, but with a goal for the Clarets, which seems more than possible given our poor recent defensive record and given we’re suffering quite a few injuries and doubts at the back. Lewis Jones writes that the “building blocks are in place” for a win. They go for a 3-1 final score, which is probably what we’d go for if pushed.
Maybe we’re being overconfident, and we’ve certainly bungled easier games than this over the last couple of years, but there’s just a sense that there is a bit of belief at Stamford Bridge right now, despite the moans and groans in our last game.
