Chelsea want 16 year old South American star before the rest of Europe catches on

In order to get ahead of the curve, Chelsea have been looking at younger and younger players in recent times.

If you want to beat Brighton to South America’s best wonderkids, you’ve got to move fast. Hence us signing Kendry Paez when he was still 15.

It looks like we might be ready to repeat the trick. Caughtoffside today report on rumours that we’ve got our eyes on Franco Mastantuono, the latest prodigy from the River Plate academy.

He’s an attacking midfielder and is apparently regarded as one of the biggest talents on the continent. As with Paez, any deal would be a long term investment as he wouldn’t even be able to join us until he turns 18.

It’s a name to keep an eye on, without doubt. Manchester City have been hoovering up the best Argentine talent of late, and it’s maybe our turn to take a lottery ticket now.
