€31m signing could be “best in the Premier League” in his position claims former Arsenal man

Former Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna has been speaking about one of Chelsea’s breakout stars of the season, Malo Gusto.

Sagna knows the position well, and reckons Gusto can go on to be one of the very best:

‘Gusto is dynamic, fast and good at one on ones. He was doing well at Lyon, and I’m not surprised to see him shining at Chelsea because he has all the qualities to be an important player,” Sagna said.

“Chelsea are in a rebuilding process at the moment and Gusto has been doing well but he can do even better in the coming seasons.

“He has the quality to become the best right-back in the Premier League, if he keeps playing this way for a whole season.”

Reece James’ constant injuries have opened the door for Gusto this season, and he’s really taken advantage, gradually building his form through the season until the last few weeks where he’s been superb.

If there ten other players in the team performing at his level, we would look even better. Considering he cost €31m, we can certainly say he looks like one of the best buys we’ve made in recent years.

  1. A great buy, but far be it from Chelsea News to credit the owners for acquiring him before someone else did. No, this bastion of journalistic integrity is too busy posting clown images and alleged nose-picking incidents to give credit where credit is due!
