“Full focus on Chelsea” – Fabrizio Romano on future of Chelsea winger

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that Raheem Sterling has “full focus” on Chelsea despite stories emerging about his future.

Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £50m back in the summer of 2022 and is earning over £300,000 per week at Stamford Bridge.

The England international hasn’t had the best of times in west London and was reportedly singled out by Todd Boehly in the dressing room last season as someone who should be performing better.

The 29 year old has also been subject to boos from Chelsea fans in recent games against Wolves and Brentford with supporters not happy with his performances.

The Telegraph revealed yesterday that Chelsea are eyeing up a summer move for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams who plays in the same position as Sterling, which has lead to fresh stories emerging about his future.

However, Romano has clarified that nothing has changed in regards to Sterling’s future and said on X: “No changes on Raheem Sterling despite fresh stories, no contacts with Al Hilal, not even talks so far. Full focus on Chelsea.”

Sterling was subject to an approach from Saudi Arabia last summer and it remains to be seen if he will be approached again this summer but the winger is not believed to be open to a move to Saudi.

The former City man has scored eight goals and provided nine assists from 34 appearances in all competitions this season.
