Now or never for recalled Chelsea loanee who should get midfield start at last

With Conor Gallagher ill and Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez headed deep into the “red-zone” of minutes played, Mauricio Pochettino is up against it in terms of his team selection for Monday night’s game against Newcastle.

He said he’s had 9 academy players training with the first team this week, and may have to use them.

This is surely the moment where we’ll see Cesare Casadei. The midfielder was recalled from his loan at Leicester City in January to help out the first team, but has only had a handful of minutes from the bench since. If Gallagher is too ill to play, we simply have to see a Casadei start.

The Italian will be cup tied for our next game against in the FA Cup, so if he doesn’t feature from the start on Monday, it feels like he may not get a start at all in the rest of the season.
