Chelsea to ‘challenge’ Napoli for signature of Victor Osimhen replacement

Chelsea are ironically set to challenge Napoli for the signature of a player that they want to replace Victor Osimhen with, according to a report today.

Confused? Read on for clarification!

This story is all rather ironic, because Chelsea have also been heavily linked to being one of the clubs wanting to sign Osimhen this summer, but they are also looking at a player Napoli want to replace Osimhen!

Sources: Manager names on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Mauricio Pochettino revealed!

In January, Lille star Jonathan David revealed he’s flattered after Chelsea and a few other clubs have shown interest in him. The striker also stated the Blues were one of the clubs he imagined playing for as a child.

And now, in today’s today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport they talk about Chelsea’s desire to sign the 24-year-old.

His performances this season have seen him attract the attention of a few clubs, including Chelsea and Napoli. The report says that Napoli are looking to bring in David as a replacement for Victor Osimhen, who’s set to leave the Serie A side after this season.

They also say Chelsea are one of the clubs who are interested in signing David and are ‘ready to challenge’ Napoli to secure his services.

Well, that all sounds rather far-fetched, but what is clear is that Chelsea are certainly looking for a new striker this summer. What isn’t clear is what striker they will get, or what striker they will even be pushing all out to try and sign. There’s a long way to go until the summer transfer window and a lot of football to be played out before then, so a lot more can happen.

Chelsea fans are just going to need to be a little patient as we await to see who might be challenging Nicolas Jackson next season to lead the Chelsea line.
