Chelsea’s new star with 8 assists set to be fit for massive Manchester United clash

Good news has arrived for Chelsea fans who are nervously awaiting Mauricio Pochettino’s press conference ahead of the game against Manchester United on Thursday.

Malo Gusto limped off at the end of the draw with Burnley on Saturday, and in the chaos after the game nobody asked the coach about the defender’s status.

The way he was rubbing his hamstring looked ominous, and we were expecting at the very least a strain which would keep him out for a few weeks.

But instead we got a good sign yesterday when he was pictured in training photos from Cobham, and today Nizaar Kinsella has clearly been in touch with his sources at the club as he’s able to report that the issue was just cramp, meaning that he should be fit to play tomorrow night. He’s been treated at the training ground – although cramp is usually more of a case of rest and rehydration than anything else.

With Reece James still absent and no other first team right backs on our books, Gusto’s fitness is essential in these final weeks of the season. He’s been in superb form too, and we’re desperate to try and keep him fit to play the important role we’ll need him to play if we’re to make any progress up the table and in the FA Cup in this hopefully exciting conclusion to the campaign.

If he’s not available on the right hand side, it seems likely that youngster Alfie Gilchrist will slide across and play there, fresh from celebrating a new contract with Chelsea announced yesterday.
