“I would expect them to be ejected” – talkSPORT pundit gives FA Cup semi final prediction

Simon Jordan has been discussing Chelsea’s chances of making the FA Cup final as the Blues prepare for Saturday’s semi final against holders Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men should be heading into the game with confidence having thrashed Everton 6-0 on Monday night.

It’s the first time the Blues have returned to the national stadium since losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool in February, and they will be desperate to make their second cup final of the season.

Cole Palmer will be looking to punish his former side, and the 21-year-old arrives at this match in superb form having scored four goals against the Toffees.

Chelsea have been good in front of goal lately but have struggled defensively, although a first clean sheet in 13 games last time out is a big positive.

A place in the final is up for grabs and City, despite being knocked out of the Champions League are arguably still the best team in the country.

Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has been discussing Chelsea’s chances of beating City and how he thinks  their season will end.

“Sometimes you can’t bounce until you hit the bottom, and maybe Chelsea have hit the bottom and they’re starting to bounce now”,  Jordan told talkSPORT.

“I don’t know, but they’ll have been to a cup final, they’re in a cup semi-final. They’ve got the most difficult team to play in that cup semi-final, so I would expect them to be ejected from the FA Cup.

“But if they do finish inside the top six, whilst it won’t be a brilliant season, given where they’ve been during the course of it, it will be written up in a different way than the writing has been previously.”

Pochettino was handed a boost as both Enzo Fernandez and Axel Disasi returned to training ahead of the weekend having missed the game against Everton.
