A superb break down the right saw a clever Enzo Fernandez pass free Malo Gusto.
It was actually a tricky ball for Conor to take. Gusto’s cross deflected into his path, and he had to suddenly slow himself and take the shot from behind him.
But he knew he had to just get it on target to have a good chance, and he managed that. So many times that season we’ve seen that go over the bar. It’s the absolute dream start. They now have to play on the front foot, the crowd are delighted, the team can play with confidence.
We’ve done a bad job defending leads – we have to continue to threaten on the break and score another one.
