(Video): “One of the worst decisions” – Sky pundits say Chelsea were lucky with penalty call

Sky Sports asked Dermot Gallagher for his take on the penalty and red card which changed the Chelsea – Burnley game. He insisted the penalty – and the subsequent second yellow and red, were a miscarriage of justice.

Everyone on their panel agreed it wasn’t a penalty when Lorenz Assignon went shoulder to shoulder with Mykhailo Mudryk. It was certainly an opportunistic move from Mudyrk, but we don’t agree it was a scandalous call, or “one of the worst this season” as Steven Warnock put it.

We think it was soft, but the moment Assignon puts his hand up onto the winger he’s in trouble. If he had just used his body he’d have got away with it.
