Chelsea amongst clubs to have watched £30m rated Championship star ahead of possible move

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs to have watched Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville ahead of a possible summer move according to reports.

With the season coming to it’s conclusion all attention is turning to the upcoming transfer window with the Blues no doubt drawing up their plans for the summer.

As has been the case since Todd Boehly and Clearlake took over nearly two years ago, it’s expected to be another busy summer at Stamford Bridge with plenty of comings and goings.

Chelsea have watched Leeds forward Summerville

Summerville has had a brilliant season at Elland Road, scoring 20 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions, which saw him named as Championship Player of the Year.

Despite Summerville’s effort Leeds missed out on automatic promotion to the Premier League, but could still go up via the play-offs.

Summerville has been watched by a number of Premier League clubs.

Mail Sport report that failure to go up would mean Leeds have to raise close to £100m through player sales with Summerville seen as the most likely to leave.

The report adds the 22-year-old has been watched by the Blues and fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool, Aston Villa and Newcastle in recent months, and would command a fee in excess of £30m were he to be sold in the upcoming window.

From a Chelsea perspective potentially signing another young wide player wouldn’t make sense given the plethora of options the club have in that area of the pitch.

Summerville would of course fit the age profile and clearly has the ability but quite where he would fit into the current squad remains to be seen, considering Kendry Paez and most likely Estevao Willian will both be arriving in 2025.

Raheem Sterling has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and Summerville could be viewed as a cheap viable replacement, but in all honesty this move feels very unlikely.
