Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar as they look for a new goalkeeper according to reports.
The Blues signed two goalkeepers last summer with Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic both joining the club, whilst they also have young prospect Gabriel Slonina on their books.
Chelsea are set to be busy this summer with plenty of comings and goings at Stamford Bridge, but goalkeeper wouldn’t be down as a priority position that needs addressing.
Chelsea interested in Jordan Pickford
It’s worth noting reports have linked the Blues with a move for Pickford in the past, and now talkSPORT are reporting Everton face the prospect of having to sell the England international if their proposed takeover doesn’t go through.
Along with Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana, Pickford is seen as one of the club’s most valuable assets, with the report adding Chelsea could now be on red alert.
Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017 in a deal worth £30m and has established himself as England’s number one goalkeeper.
Sanchez was signed from Brighton to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga who went on loan to Real Madrid, and he was the number one until getting injured against Everton in December.
The 26-year-old is yet to fully win over Chelsea supporters and has had a number of erratic moments during his brief Chelsea career.
Petrovic on the other hand has really impressed, the Serbian has had to bide his time, and didn’t make his debut until December.
The 24-year-old has made an impressive start to his career at Stamford Bridge, making 26 appearances so far, keeping five clean sheets.
TalkSPORT add Chelsea could look to bring in a more experienced option in the summer, with Pickford potentially available depending on what happens with Everton’s takeover.
Personally I would be surprised if Chelsea signed another goalkeeper this summer, but one things for certain, never say never when it comes to the Blues and the transfer window.
