Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea has been questioned for a very long time now.
The course of the season saw his team waver between good enough to earn him a second season, and poor enough that some suspected he was at risk of being sacked at times.
As always, football is about timing however, and while some coaches have seen their bright start fade away, Pochettino has seen his side produce their best run of the season right at the end, making the prospect of sacking him look ridiculous, not long after it looked realistic.
Even if those in charge do the unthinkable – and we really don’t think they will, especially if we get wins in our last two games and make it into European football next season – there are other teams ready to jump on the Argentine.

Right now even teams like Bayern Munich are struggling to find a top coach for next season, despite having all the money and power you could ask for. Watching their issues will surely be another cautionary tale for the Chelsea hierarchy about losing Pochettino..
He’s got one year left on his contract, and if we do indeed decide we want to keep him, we’d expect rapid progress on an extension of that. The last thing we want is more uncertainty undermining his power. If we’re in on Pochettino, we’ve got to be all in. That’s especially true if these other teams are indeed hovering with intent.
