Incoming Chelsea wonder kid Kendry Paez is confident he can arrive at Stamford Bridge ready to make an impact.

Chelsea agreed a deal to sign Paez from Independiente del Valle for around £17m last summer, but he can’t join up with is new team-mates until 2025 when he will be 18.

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the 17-year-old, who is already a full Ecuador international, but expectations will need to be managed when he arrives in the Premier League.

Paez ready to make an impact at Chelsea

Paez doesn’t seemed phased by his impending move to Chelsea, and it appears the youngster doesn’t seem to feel pressure.

He recently scored a brilliant goal in Independiente del Valle’s 1-0 win against Deportivo Cuenca, and to be playing regularly for his club and appearing for his country at his age shows he is quite some talent.

Of course there is still plenty of time before Paez joins up with the Blues, but it seems he has already started the preparations for his move, and he has explained why he feels confident he can arrive at Chelsea and make an impact.

Paez has visited Cobham a number of times to get used to his new surroundings before joining Chelsea in 2025.

“I’m trying to play the starting games, score goals, be a protagonist and give assists”, he said in quotes picked up by Ecuavisa.

“I believe that the day to day training, the Pro League matches, the Libertadores matches, are going to take me to Chelsea in the best way.”

Paez might not be the only South American youngster making his way to west London, it’s been reported Chelsea are in talks to sign 17-year-old Estevao Willian from Palmieras.

Under the ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake the Blues have been active in the South American market as they look to sign the best talent from around the World.
