Source names three targets as Chelsea prioritise four positions in summer market

One top source has named three targets that Chelsea are looking at this summer as they aim to bring in new players in four different positions in the summer transfer market that will be opening soon.

They are going to have a new manager in place for then as well, with Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca set to take the reigns as the new Chelsea head coach.

According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea are finalising a deal to make the 44-year-old Italian their new head coach on a five-year contract after thrashing out a compensation package worth £10million with newly-promoted Leicester.

The article, written by reliable source Nick Purewal, also goes on to speak about Chelsea’s summer transfer plans, with Enzo Maresca set to be involved in those as well.

He says Maresca will not have control over transfers, but he will have plenty of input and has already discussed potential targets with Chelsea chiefs.

So who will Chelsea target and in what positions?

Well, according to the report, Chelsea will prioritise a new goalkeeper, centre-back, left-back and forward this summer.

And what about the names?

They have three names mentioned for goalkeeper, centre back, and striker, but we are left guessing on the left back for now due to the one mentioned, Quilindschy Hartman, is out injured until early 2025! These names are just mentioned as targets.

Purewal says Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford is among the targets being considered, while Chelsea are understood to be pursuing a free transfer for Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

The Blues will be in the market for a top-level striker in the long run and are understood to retain strong interest in Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen.

We will have to wait and see if any of these names come to fruition or not, but Chelsea could certainly use some key additions in the market.
