Source reports Enzo Maresca’s 8-man backroom staff who will join him at Chelsea

One source believes they have the names of the 8-man backroom staff who will be joining Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca at Chelsea when that appointment is confirmed as expected soon.

The Italian coach is expected to be in the Stamford Bridge dugout from next season and the agreement for him to become the next Chelsea head coach is already there. They appear to now just be confirming Maresca’s backroom staff before the move is made official and Chelsea fans can fully know who their next manager is.

Sources: Chelsea’s interest in Ivan Toney – the latest!

Maresca is know to have a big entourage of staff with him, as he did at Leicester, and it looks like that is not going to change at Chelsea.

According to The Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill last night, Maresca has handpicked a set of best-in-class coaches that he wanted with him at Stamford Bridge. There are eight names in total, with another two appointments in line to follow once further talks have been held with Maresca.

According to the report, Maresca’s backroom staff will be:

– Willy Caballero – Assistant Manager.
– Danny Walker – Coach.
– Michele De Bernardin – Goalkeeper Coach.
– Ben Roberts – Goalkeeper Coach and Head of Global Goalkeeping.
– Marcos Alvarez – Fitness Coach.
– Bernardo Cueva – Set-Piece Coach.
– Javier Molina Caballero – Analyst.

– Roberto Vitiello – Development Coach.

Familiar face in there

This could prove to be a very costly appointment for Chelsea with such a large backroom team coming in as well.

But there is one familiar face there in the shape of former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

He became a bit of a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge for his dedication to the cause and his attitude and mentality during his time at the club despite only ever really just being a backup choice.

At the very least he will know the club and the surroundings well and can help his coaching team a lot on that side.
