Chelsea transfer target Georgiy Sudakov has said it would be great if he could play in the same team as close friend Mykhailo Mudryk.
Sudakov is another Ukranian starlet, and the midfielder is attracting interest from Chelsea as well as Arsenal and Tottenham, with the 21-year-old seemingly set to leave Shakhtar Donetsk this summer.
The Ukrainian giants are said to now want more than £60m for their star asset having turned down a £34m bid from Napoli in January.
Sudakov wants to play in the same team as Mudryk
Mudryk has struggled at Chelsea following his big money move from Shakhtar in January 2023, but started to find his feet towards the end of last season when he was a given a good run in the side.
The winger clearly has all the attributes to be a top player, and the undeniable talent is there for everyone to see, it just needs refining and it still feels like he needs a lot of coaching.
Despite Mudryk’s best efforts to convince Sudakov he isn’t ready for the Premier League the Chelsea transfer target insists he’s ready and even said he would like to play in the same team as his compatriot.
“We are in touch on a daily basis”, Sudakov told I News.
“He is a big friend of mine, over the last two months he has played a lot more and has been much more successful.
“The beginning for him was quite tough, mentally and physically, but step by step he is getting there.
“When we play in the national team together I have seen how much he has grown as the season has progressed.
“I was telling Misha (Mudryk) about how much I want to play in the Premier League and how it would be great to play in the same team.
“Misha told me that I was not ready for the kind of pressure that happens in England and if I do come I need to be ready for that, but I am.”
Sudakov is the next big Ukrainian star to come out of Shakhtar, and last season scored ten goals and provided six assists from 34 appearances in all competitions.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea advance on their interest in the Ukraine international this summer, but he certainly has high ambitions.
