Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen has just scored for Borussia Dortmund with a shot from the edge of the box in their final game of the season.
He’s had a brilliant spell there since January, helping them get into the Champions League final and making up for a first half of the season spent sitting on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
Each of these goals is especially painful for Chelsea fans as we know that Maatsen is likely leaving the club this summer, against the wishes of the majority of supporters. We’ve been calling for him to get a chance all year, but Mauricio Pochettino just didn’t fancy him, even when stripped of left back options.
Still, let’s hope that every good performance he puts in at least increase the money we get for his sale this summer.
