(Video) – “I think they will sign two centre backs” – Top journalist on Chelsea’s summer plans

Chelsea may not have a manager in place but the club are pressing on with their plans for what is expected to be another busy window.

The Blues have been free spending following the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital two years ago, breaking the British transfer record twice with the signings of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea are believed to be looking at signing a centre back, following the departure of Thiago Silva, a striker and possibly a left back depending on what happens with Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.

Silva might not be the only centre back leaving Stamford Bridge, with huge questions marks over Trevoh Chalobah’s future, despite his great form. and having four years left on is contract.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes Chelsea will sign two centre backs this summer, with Chalobah having to be sold for Financial Fair Play reasons.

It would a real shame to see the 24-year-old leave the club, particularly as it won’t be down to footballing reasons, and he has certainly proven he is more than capable of being a valuable member of the Chelsea squad.
