Just 8 minutes in to today’s game and Chelsea have already taken the lead, deflating a buzzing City Ground.
It was Mykhailo Mudryk who got it, finally doing what he needs to do in the box.
He started very wide, hugging the touchline and pulling Nottingham Forest’s full back with him. That created space for Cole Palmer, who timed and weighted his pass perfectly to bisect the defenders and leave Mudryk with a clear run at goal. He had to finish a little early to avoid a challenge but did it perfectly.
Mauricio Pochettino celebrated on the touchline with a clenched fist. He will want full focus now, with no slacking off from his young squad. Ending the season with a run of wins could be vital to his job security.

When will Mudryk learn to make these runs in behind more often?! He scores this beautiful goal and then doesn’t make the move again for the remainder of the game. Utterly mystifying what runs through his head!
