Chelsea had a horrific season at times, but at least compared to last season they scored a lot of goals – and some nice ones too.
The club’s goal of the season award is full of beauties, from Enzo Fernandez’s pinger free kick against Aston Villa to Tyrique George’s run and strike from the development squad. Mayra Ramirez from the Womens’ team is also a regular feature after she took the WSL by storm despite arriving only in January.
If we HAD to pick one, we’d probably go with Cole Palmer’s goal against Everton. It was such a nice combination of individual skill (the nutmeg of Jarryd Branthwaite, the backheel from Nicolas Jackson, the finish) and a team move (the 1-2 to slice through the defence). The fact that it came as part of a 5-0 win made it all the more glorious too.
