Before Chelsea get into gear making purchases this summer there are going to be some sales, and it’s starting to look a lot like Armando Broja is going to be the first of those sales.
The striker has been on loan at Fulham since January, where he barely played. Before that he was on the bench for us, not featuring much either. The sensible next step is a permanent transfer away, and the good news for him is that there seem to be a few teams interested.
Nick Purewal of the Evening Standard today writes that “Wolves, Monaco and Bologna” are 3 of the teams with an interest in the Albania striker.
That’s a nice spread, with Bologna having just made it to the Champions League and the other two also very interesting options for a player who want to show they can cut it at a high level.
Not long ago there was talk of the Blues demanding £50m for their academy star, although that’s since been dropped to a more reasonable £30m. It seems more than possible that Chelsea get that.
Wolves, Monaco and Bologna are all pushing hard to complete a quick deal to land Armando Broja on a permanent transfer. The #ChelseaFC #CFC striker is thought to prefer to wait until after Euros to decide but competition for his services has intensified

A conclusion rapidly reached
The news that so many teams are interested in Broja can only be a positive for Chelsea, who clearly see him as one of the top home grown assets they can shed this summer. Selling him early benefits them too – if they can complete a deal before the 30th of June, it counts towards this season’s accounting period rather than next.
As Purewal writes above, it makes sense that Broja would prefer more time to think over his options and work out what’s on the table. But for the clubs buying him and for Chelsea a quick deal makes more sense, so we could see things come together very quickly and very suddenly.
