Moises Caicedo picked up his second consecutive Copa America Man of the Match award as Ecuador drew with Mexico to set up a quarter final with Argentina.

Caicedo has taken his strong end of season form onto the international stage and has put in a series of brilliant performances in the group stage.

The 22-year-old has now been named Man of The Match in two out of three of Ecuador’s games and is the heartbeat of the national side.

Caicedo initially struggled following his £115m move from Brighton last summer, but he found his feet over the second half of the season, and is now showing why the Blues paid big money to secure his services.

The midfielder matched the feat of former Chelsea player N’Golo Kante who also picked up consecutive Man of the Match awards at Euro 2024, and many supporters have likened to Caicedo to the Frenchman.

Caicedo is now set to do battle with team-mate Enzo Fernandez in the quarter finals, with the pair set to be key players for Enzo Maresca in the upcoming season.
