Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall feels Chelsea is the perfect fit for him having completed his £30m move from boyhood club Leicester City.
Dewsbury-Hall was officially announced as a Chelsea player on Tuesday and signed a five year contract at Stamford Bridge with the option of a further year.
The 25-year-old knows Enzo Maresca well having worked under the Italian last season as the Foxes won the Championship title, with the midfielder scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists.
Dewsbury-Hall believes Chelsea is perfect fit for him
Dewsbury-Hall spent 17 years at Leicester, and came through the ranks at the club’s academy before going on to establish himself as a key first team player.
The midfielder believes that Chelsea are the perfect for him, and he’s looking forward to playing with and testing himself against top players.
“Last season was a positive year for me and I’m coming into this season feeling like a new player, full of confidence, full of motivation to get going and I don’t see a better fit than coming to Chelsea and testing myself against some top players and playing with top players,” he told Chelsea’s website.
“I am in a great space and I am really looking forward to getting going.”
Dewsbury-Hall is aiming to win silverware in his first season at the club, and wants to play as many games as possible and the help team in anyway he can.
“My hopes for the season, first and foremost, is to win some silverware,” he added.
“That is an aim for this club and we are in plenty of competitions this season where we can try to do that, so that is priority number one.
“I want to play as many games as I can and try to help the team as much as possible, that is imperative to me.
“I want to enjoy the moment and enjoy the occasion, there are going to be a lot of games this season and hopefully there will be a lot of ups.”
Dewsbury-Hall will have a chance to impress his new team-mates and Maresca when pre-season training begins on July 8th, with the Blues heading out to America later this month to really step up their preparations for the new campaign.
