Spanish media claims player wont have major role at Chelsea despite just joining

The Spanish media have made some claims today that a player that Chelsea have only just signed this summer window will not have a major role at the club this season.

And as a result, they believe that a loan move away is on the cards and a return to La Liga already.

We are talking about Chelsea’s new striker signing Marc Guiu from Barcelona, who has not even been spotted at Cobham yet since his transfer was announced last week. The youngster will be joining up with the Chelsea squad for pre-season soon, at least you’d expect him to. And if he doesn’t, then that will only get tongues wagging some more and fuel these latest rumours.

The claim is that Sevilla are waiting on Guiu to be loaned to them by Chelsea for this season, and I guess if that is happening, then he might as well stay in Spain.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo indicates the 18-year-old won’t have a major role at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca next season.

Mundo say Guiu will find it difficult to have more game time at Chelsea. It’s claimed the Premier League side are considering sending Guiu out on loan to Sevilla this summer.

The newspaper claims Sevilla are ‘waiting for him’ to arrive on a temporary deal.

It does seem odd that Guiu is yet to arrive at Cobham, but you’d suspect that Enzo Maresca would want to at least give him a chance in pre-season first before making any decisions on a loan move. Also, you think it will depend more on whether Chelsea go into the market for another striker as well as Guiu, as has been what the rumours have been suggesting recently.

It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
