Chelsea are reportedly progressing in a deal to sign a new American left back this summer transfer window, according to the latest inside reports.
The Blues are looking to sign in a host of new positions this window, with left back, striker, and winger being the heaviest rumoured positions that they are looking to bring in at the moment.

However, this latest link looks like it will be a player for the future and not for the here and now, because it sounds like if Chelsea get a deal done to sign him, then he will go on loan to Strasbourg.

According to journalist Tom Bogert, as seen above, Chelsea are progressing in talks with Atlanta United to sign rising American left back Caleb Wiley. No deal is done/agreed yet still, but his sources are optimistic. The plan is to go on loan to Strasbourg and the deal could be in the region of $10m.
