Chelsea have banned Trevoh Chalobah from using their first team facilities as the club look to facilitate his exit according to Matt Law.
Chalobah was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America in the clearest indication that his time at Stamford Bridge was up.
He’s been training with the club’s development squad and that is expected to remain the case until he sorts a move away with Chelsea said to want a fee of around £25m.
Chelsea ban Trrevoh Chalobah from first team facilities
Things are in danger of turning nasty and The Telegraph have reported that Chelsea have taken further action against Chalobah by banning him from using their first team facilities.
The report adds that Chalobah hasn’t been at lunch or in the first team dressing room since the squad returned from America.
The Telegraph state that Chalobah has accepted the club’s decision and acted in a professional manor, even though a number of his team-mates are said to be surprised about how he’s been treated.
Chalobah has been at Chelsea since the age of eight and has come through the ranks to play for the first team and captained the club on occasions last season.
What makes this strange is that he was handed a new long term contract less than two years ago, which runs until 2028.
The 25-year-old is attracting interest from several clubs including the likes of Aston Villa and it’s believed Chalobah isn’t in a rush to make a decision on his future.
Reports have suggested that Chalobah wants to move to a club that’s playing European football and a possible move to Villa would hand him the opportunity to play Champions League football.
Chalobah turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last summer to stay and fight for his place and he made a significant contribution over the second half of the season as Chelsea secured a top six finish, but sadly it appears his career with the club is now over.
