Chelsea have reignited their interest in Samu Omorodion and are prepared to pay €35m for the Atletico Madrid striker according to Fabrizio Romano.
It’s been a busy summer for the Blues, who have made a number of new signings as they look to strengthen their squad in an attempt to get back into the Champions League.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been the most expensive arrival at £30m and the club are yet to make what would be described as a marquee signing.
Chelsea prepared to pay €35m for Omorodion
The Blues have been looking to sign a centre forward all summer to compete with Nicolas Jackson and despite signing teenager Marc Guiu from Barcelona they are still looking to add another striker to their ranks.
Chelsea have been linked with a whole host of names including Omorodion, Jhon Duran, Jonathan David and most recently Victor Osimhen, but nothing has materialised yet.
However, Romano has now provided an update and said the Blues are prepared to pay €35m for Omorodion in order to move forward in talks.
He took to X.com and said:
“More on Samu Omorodion. He’s been discussed again in recent talks between Chelsea and Atlético, separate deal from Gallagher. Understand Chelsea are prepared to bid €35m to advance in talks but decision will be up to Atlético. It depends on Atlético’s plan.”

Atletico are thought to have rejected multiple bids from Chelsea for Omorodion, but they have always maintained their interest in the 20-year-old.
Omorodion has yet to kick a ball for Atletico after spending last season on loan at Alaves, where he scored nine goals in 36 appearances following his move to the Spanish capital from Granada.
Chelsea and Atletico have a good relationship, with Conor Gallagher about to join the La Liga outfit in a deal worth £33.7m, and the Spanish side could be tempted to sell in order to help fund a move for Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez.
I will rather prefered samu omorodion than victor osimhen
