Trevoh Chalobah’s loan move to Crystal Palace has been confirmed, with a statement on the Crystal Palace website from the player announcing it just now.
According to Ben Jacobs, whose Tweet you can see below, it’s a straight loan with no option to buy. Although given Chelsea’s desire to constantly be raising funds, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Palace convert it to a permanent deal at some point before the campaign is out.
“I’m delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace. I know some of the boys in the squad well and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park,” Chalobah is quotes as saying.
Palace really did have an excellent window, signing Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaila Sarr, Maxence Lacroix, Eddie Nketiah and Matt Turner to add to a squad which impressed under Oliver Glasner last season.
“Trevoh is a talented young man and when the opportunity to bring him to Palace for the season arose, we were determined to seize it. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will be a great addition,” Palace chairman Steve Parish added.

Chalobah ready to really show what he can do
Our stance on Chalobah has been very clear all summer – he’s our best central defender (on form at least), he’s home grown and he’s signed up to a long contract agreed under the new ownership. He should not only be staying, he should be starting and even captaining the team.
But it’s been clear for 18 months or more that he’s not wanted, and in those circumstances, this is a nice move. Palace are a well run, upwardly mobile team and Chalobah can help take them to the next level. After a year on loan there playing regularly, we’re sure his value is going to sky rocket.
