It’s that time of the year again where critics, media, fans, and everyone else in between reflect on the last long and busy summer transfer window that has just closed.
Chelsea’s new owners have had their critics from day one really, many of them, but they seem to be getting more and more heat on them by the day for the way they have been operating in the transfer window.

The latest summer window has been no different either, they have still been buying up many young talents from around the globe, and also selling and loaning out players as well. It’s a really busy club for player sales and arrivals, and has been since Todd Boehly and Clearlake became the owners.
Some people claim to see the vision, others are just not buying it at all. Everyone has an opinion.

It is the opinion of The Daily Mail’s Matt Barlow that Chelsea have just become a trading hub rather than a football club, in his latest deep dive article into the club’s transfer business and squad build.
Barlow believes Chelsea have ignored buying the importance of experience and will end up paying for it.
As seen above, Barlow wrote:
‘Five markets into the new era and Chelsea are behaving as if they have ceased to be a football club. They appear to be primarily a trading hub. A staggering blur of comings and goings.’
I do think some Chelsea fans will agree with him, whilst others will not.
Well believe it or not i was thinking exactly that before i read the articles. Football has always been a business however that was mostly on fans coming through the gates and merchandising. We were still talking football most of the time.
Now it has gone to far we are talking money most of the time, whatever the circumstances instead of…. The game of football!!!
I am a retired accountant and have no problem with creative accounting but it has gone to far regarding players that are flesh and blood. How putting players in a ‘ bomb squad’ is not constructive dismissal beats me!!
I felt sorry for those players however we also have to be realistic that ‘ joe public’ is not earning a relatively poor wage of 50k a week!!! But everyone is human and everyone bleeds.
Owners now practicing multiple club syndrome has taken the sport of football to financial extreme which is so disheartening.
I was playing football from 5 years old to 55 years old , 50 years, lets hope the fans can ensure that this game stays on the pitch instead of the board room.
